Trauma is a psychological, emotional, and physical response to deeply distressing events that overwhelm a person’s ability to cope. It can result from experiences such as abuse, violence, accidents, disasters, loss, or neglect, and its impact depends not only on the event itself but also on how it is experienced and processed.

Trauma may be acute, chronic, or complex, affecting thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships long after the event has occurred. The Trauma Group is a psychoeducational class that helps individuals understand trauma and its effects, identify personal triggers, and learn healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.
